Web design has been Windswept Production's main activity since we began.
Our specialty has always been quality, reasonably-priced web sites for small businesses; as our skills and our network of subcontractors, colleagues, and gurus has grown, we have taken on a wider range of assignments and responsibilities. These can be divided into four types:
- Corporate Sites: These have been created for various corporate entities -- banks, companies with wide geographical range and/or significant share of their particular market.
- Custodial & Maintenance Sites: These are sites which -- for some reason or another -- Windswept Productions has been called upon to take over, either simply to maintain, or to repair, or to develop further. In many cases the code and design are not our own (and in many cases we find this less than pleasant), but it's a necessary part of what we do.
- Build'n'Beat It Sites: These are sites that do not carry our logo, because (generally) the client has contracted with us to build the site, but intends to maintain and/or edit it in-house. In some cases they do a fine job; in others they break it pretty profoundly. While these cannot and do not reflect our work, we include them here.
- Small Business Sites: These are sites created for small, typically "Mom-and-Pop", businesses that want an effective, professional web presence, often for e-commerce, but don't want to go either the cookie-cutter/template route or the overpriced, overcoded, and behind-schedule route.
Windswept Productions' preferred approach is to work closely with each client, encouraging strong input prior to even the initial design stages, and continuous feedback throughout the development process. We find it helpful to educate our clientele in those areas of web development that impact their site's effectiveness -- and its cost.
